Scope and Contents:
  • IFRC DREF Operation MDRME005 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Montenegro Red Cross assist people affected by extreme winter conditions by providing food parcels, blankets, hygiene parcels, rubber boots and gas heaters.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRME006 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Montenegro Red Cross assist Roma refugees from Kosovo affected by the flooding of the Konik refugee camp by providing hot meals, mattresses, and plastic sheeting.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRMG008 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Madagascar Red Cross Society assist people affected by tropical storms Giovanna and Irina and an inter-tropical convergence zone by:  providing non-food relief items, emergency shelter, health services, psychosocial support, safe water and sanitation; providing rescue services, first aid, and referral to health centres; disinfecting and rehabilitating water wells; condicuting a hygiene promotion campaign; conducting vector control campaigns in mosquito prone districts; and preparing communities to predict, respond to and recover from floods and landslides.  The National Society will also improve its disaster management in shelter capacity.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRMK001 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Macedonian Red Cross assist people affected by extreme winter conditions by providing food parcels, hygiene parcels, blankets, rubber boots, and warm clothes.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRML008 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Mali Red Cross assist people affected by food insecurity by distributing food and sensitizing communities on food hygiene and good nutrition habits.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRML009 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Mali Red Cross Society assist people affected by food insecurity by:  providing food parcels; distributing livestock fodder and food, and cash crop seeds;  supporting communal gardening by distributing vegetable seeds and small tools, constructing fencing, and rehabilitating or installing water pumps and irrigation channels; and delivering hygiene and nutrition education and nutrition screening and referral to health facilities.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRMR005 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Mauritanian Red Crescent Society assist refugees from Mali by:  providing sleeping mats, blankets, kitchen sets, jerry cans, hygiene kits and buckets; providing health services; promoting immunization of children; and promoting hygiene and safe treatment, storage and use of water.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRMW007 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Malawi Red Cross Society to assist people affected by floods by providing shelter kits and roofing materials, kitchen sets, blankets, mosquito nets, jerry cans, and diarrhoea / cholera prevention kits; conducting hygiene and water treatment awareness campaigns; and repairing and maintaining water boreholes.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRMW008 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Malawi Red Cross Society to assist people affected by food insecurity by:  providing food, chlorination tablets, jerry cans, seeds, tools, and fertilizer; providing first aid, preventive and curative health services, and referrals to health facilities; conducting social mobilization for routine vaccinations and ways of preventing malaria; promoting hygiene, sanitation and disease prevention; conducting training in irrigation and farming techniques for sustainable crop diversificationn; installling irrigation systems and providing maintenance training; developing contingency plans and community based early warning systems to predict, respond to and recover from droughts and floods.
