Scope and Contents:
  • IFRC DREF Operation MDRCL008 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Chilean Red Cross assist people affected by wildfire by:  providing tarpaulins, kitchen sets, family first aid kits, hygiene kits, water filters, and buckets; providing first aid care and psychosocial support.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRCM013 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Cameroon Red Cross respond to an outbreak of yellow fever by carrying out social mobilization, behaviour change communication, and epidemiological surveillance activities in support of the Ministry of Health's immunization campaign.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRCM014 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Cameroon Red Cross assist people affected by floods by:  distributing non-food relief items; constructing temporary shelters; improving access to safe water and sanitation; promoting hygiene; providing psychosocial and rehabilitation support; supporting a mass vaccination campaign; and providing first aid and transport to health facilities.  The National Society will also put in place an early flood warning system and develop flood contingency plans.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRCR009 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Costa Rican Red Cross assist people affected by floods by:  providing kitchen kits, hygiene kits and jerry cans; cleaning wells; and promoting hygiene.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRCR010 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Costa Rican Red Cross assist people affected by an earthquake that struck on September 5, 2012 by: assisting with detailed assessments of the damage to buildings and homes; conducting needs assessments; supporting rescue and evacuation efforts; and providing first aid and psychosocial support.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRCU002 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Cuban Red Cross assist people affected by Hurricane Sandy, which hit on October 25, 2012, by:  providing non-food relief items, roof repair kits, shelter kits, and safe water; training families on house repair techniques; and conducting hygiene promotion and sanitation education campaigns.  The National Society will also strengthen its early warning capacity and improve its Emergency Operations Center regional operational centres.
