  • IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRBF011 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Burkinabe Red Cross Society respond to drought related food insecurity by: providing food, food vouchers, vouchers for livestock fodder and water access, seeds, tools, and fertilizer; providing food management and food hygiene education; identifying malnourished children, pregnant women and breastfeeding women for food security support; conducting awareness sessions on famine early warning systems; promoting better use of irrigation systems; constructing shallow wells for animals; and integrating drought risk reduction and climate change adaptation into development plans.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBF012 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Burkinabe Red Cross Society to provide refugees from Mali with sleeping mats, blankets, kettles, hygiene kits, kitchen sets, tents, and community health services.  The National Society will also provide refugees and host communties with safe water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRBI008 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Burundi Red Cross assist Burundian refugees returning from Tanzania after the Tanzania government closed the Mtabila refugee camp by:  receiving and orientating returnees, including providing information on obtaining government identity documents and restoring family links; providing kitchen sets, shelter kits, seeds, first aid, water and sanitation, and psychosocial support; promoting hygiene; and establishing an epidemic surveillance system for cholera.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBI009 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Burundi Red Cross to respond to a cholera outbreak by:  ensuring access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene kits; conducting hygiene promotion and disinfection activities; and conducting early case detection and community case management.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBJ009 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Benin Red Cross to assist people affected by floods by: providing shelter kits, sleeping mats, blankets, kitchen sets, soap and household water treatment kits, safe water and sanitation, first aid, and health referral services; organizing health education and hygiene promotion activities; constructing emergeny latrines and bath houses; and conducting awareness sessions on household water treatment and conservation.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBJ010 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Benin Red Cross to respond to a cholera epidemic by:  providing safe water and basic sanitation; and improving hygiene behaviour and cholera awareness in communities.

     

    IFRC Emergency Appeal MDRBO007 requests donations of cash and in-kind for the Federation to support the Bolivian Red Cross assist people affected by floods by;  providing food, hygiene kits, insecticide treated mosquito nets, and safe water; providing community based disease prevention and health promotion; completing a cleaning and fumigation campaign targeting mosquito breeding grounds to prevent the spread of dengue; and providing technical support and seeds to assist families recover their agricultural production.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBY001 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Belarus Red Cross provide people affected by extreme winter weather with food and clothing.

     

    IFRC DREF Operation MDRBZ003 describes the allocation of money from the DREF to enable the Belize Red Cross Society provide people affected by hurricane Ernesto, which struck on August 7, 2012, with food, blankets, jerry cans, and hygiene kits.
