Abstract:
  • This resource presents a set of qualitative questions designed to support the collection of social and behavioural insights related to mpox prevention and management at the community level. Developed collaboratively by SSHAP and the Collective Service, it aims to guide field teams, social scientists and public health practitioners in gathering information on people’s perceptions, capacities, practices and needs in contexts where mpox transmission is occurring or anticipated. By promoting consistent and high‑quality data collection, the tool helps inform communication strategies, strengthen community engagement, support preparedness and response planning, and enhance the ability of frontline actors to deliver clear, context‑appropriate messages. It builds on similar tools created for other public health emergencies and contributes to improving evidence‑based decision‑making in mpox response efforts.
